Missing Link Revealed

disappearingink

After much searching, it turns up here! So this is Dan Boeckner, pre-Wolf Parade, made while Frog Eyes were still called Blue Pine. Blue Pine is still in print on Global Symphonic, but not (yet) on emusic. Atlas Strategic is NOT in print, yet here it is. Go figure. Great anecdote: Boeckner was approached by Subpop about signing Atlas Strategic, but then his mother died and he broke up the band. He wasted no time in returning contact for his NEXT band, obviously. btw, the correct order of tracks 11, 12 and 13 are: 11. Official Opposition at the Galactic Council (the Deconstruction of Atlas Strategic) 12. Idiot Boys 13. Jesus, Don't Do Me Like That. Well worth a listen, though it'll make many happy who've been searching in vain for this long-lost release.

No longer a complete rarity

eMusic have clearly messed up the names of the last three tracks: I have no idea what track 11 should be called, but track 12 is "Official Opposition At The Galactic Council (The Deconstruction Of Atlas Strategic)" and track 13 is "Jesus, Don't Do Me Like That". Other than that this record is a great opportunity to peer into the world of Dan Boeckner before he founded Wolf Parade with Spencer Krug. This record will suite fans of Wolf Parade, and probably those who are more interested in Krug's musical circle (Sunset Rubdown, Frog Eyes, etc.)
