Taut and Perceptive

sanders.keith

Tabea Zimmerman understands that this is not a viola concerto and plays with subtlety and perception. Colin Davis, who has probably done more for Berlioz than any other living conductor, draws playing from the LSO of the highest order. Altogether the best modern performance of this music.

Rushed and insensitive

steinib

I know Harold en Italie quite well and was looking forward to this, but I found it insensitive and rushed. All the emphasis seemed to be on sonic impact. The subtle story, the narrative, is totally lost.
