great album
Great album! Dramatic and touching. And I am not sure why the title would bother some people. To me, it sounds much more poetic than something like "children."

This is an excellent first album by a group of young Mexican musicians. I'm not sure whether to call it post-rock. It is rather hard to categorize. Perhaps soft-ambient would be the best term. No lyrics to speak of; lots of soft guitar sounds and layered synthesizer. Those whose musical palette tends to be on the mild side will like this. It's tame, soft and lovey.
Like the other review here I hadn't heard/read anything about Childs before, I came across them by total accident. And I have totally fallen for this album now, gradually downloading half the tracks on Itunes before more having just joined emusic. And suddenly I have the whole gorgeous album! A lot of ambient music wafts by but these tracks are just so full of melodies which build, they just carry you off on a wave. It's hard to pick highlights but Yui is just plain lovely. Mariana is too... and when the voice just says 'she never woke up' I feel like I want to cry.... and I have no idea what it is about! The last two minutes are simply sublime. Reki, Post:Seele, Marisal are just gorgeous in the extreme. And Ian P. just floats by on a cloud. Highly recommended.
