This is a rare example of, to me, a tribute to an integral band! Spacemen 3 were kinda like the 80's VU an deserve some serious revisiting (or they can be kept like a secret...). The artists here have come up with some refreshing takes on S3 classics! Sadly they are only classics to a hardy, intellectual few who love this type of sound!
not all tributes suk. this is one of the only tributes where all the songs actually have something going for them, besides who doesn't love to drone out on 1 or 2 chords for a while? --- as to the 3 spacemen, a song like "rolercoaster" requires utmost commitment to the bit, not to mention 45 minutes of "dreamweapon." --- this is one of the only good tributes.
