Therion is in my opinion the best that symphonic rock/metal has to offer. In this album Therion covers the Norse myth of creation. It is an epically executed album about epic eddas. Say that ten times fast. The album also includes covers of the Scorpions and ABBA in the respective final two tracks. Mileage may vary, they are better than the originals.

"Secret of the Runes," skillfully combines heavy riffing and solo's with operatic, Wagner like operatic vocals. This is viking metal at its best, and an excellent metal band overall.
