The recording had extremely bad sound quality. Should be replaced!I heard it live some time afterwards and it was relieving.

I agree - is there a more contemporary version available on here? It's a beautiful work
Very old recording - bad sound
The sound might not have been bad many years ago but this sounds like a mono recording - not up to the standard of sound we have come to expect these days. The opera itself is fine, but I find this recording unlistenable.
