Great worship disc. Must have.
This is a great album of worship songs; the album was produced by the same studio that has helped Shawn McDonald and Shane&Shane put out their records. Jon Shirley must be that one Christian worship artist whose stuff is great enough to think he's a big name, but maybe enough mystery to make you question why no one knows about him yet. Track #10 (Rich & Full) is performed alongside Shane Barnard. The entire disc is worth your time. The anthems will remind you of Tomlin and there's enough pop on this disc to make you think of Leeland. http://jonshirley.com
Worshipful, open
This artist's heart for worship really comes through, the music is easy to listen to and the lyrics are not overbearing. Some worship is obviously trying too hard to be 'popular' or preachy. I didn't get the feeling that he, at any point, was thinking more about performance than he was worship. This is just a guy talking to God. And if you're looking for a track to try on for size, I recommend "Rise Up"... good piano lines and a little zippy!

All I can say is "Wow." This album knocks my socks off. If you like listening to spirit filled contemporary praise and worship music, you will love Jon Shirley's latest CD. His voice kinda reminds me of Chris Tomlin. There is good reason why it is currently one of the top selling CD's on Independentbands.com. I never tire of listening to HEAVEN HEAR US.
