Am I mistaken?
Or can I hear a raspberry blown on the soundclip of Symphony No. 7?

Eshpai's music is almost unknown, which is a pity. Like Silvestrov, the seventh sympnohy seems to inhabit a dreamlike world of reminiscence. The familiar landmarks of a classical symphony appear, as if out of the mist - fragments of allegros and scherzos, a sardonic fugal episode at one point - but they recede again, and the work closes with a lingering farewell. This certainly makes me keen to sample some more of Eshpai's work, and, as a single track, it's almost free!
