Who has put out a record as good as Ticker Symbols in the last twenty years? Answer: no one. It's that good. Why, why, why are you people in the dark?? Maybe Emusic should write a review. Overlord is fantastic live. With or without the full band, the songs on the album are haunting, melodic, sentimental, and beautiful.
Okay, bad pun. Sorry. George Pasles continues to write great songs that get ignored. This is a tragedy. What the hell is wrong with you people? Overlord's (7th?) album is another winner- filled with sighing, soaring melodies, beautiful vocals, and alternately hilarious/bummer lyrics ala Morrissey but in theory only- he's not aping anyone here. Sounds like? I don't know. Something like Robert Pollard fronting the Cure circa 82'? Shit. God help me, I'm a man wanting good analogies. This is terrific. Get his other albums. My favorite is "The Wonderful World Of Chemistry".
