the things i like about this album? red hunter's scratchy voice, quirky melodies, guitar lines, and beautiful— absolutely beautiful— lyrics. by the way, emusic's biography of peter and the wolf is about the uk band peter and the wolf. daytrotter.com has some great live recordings of him, as well.
my first review on emusic.. i felt obliged to let the emusic world know that this slice of alt. acoustic is perfect for those who like their 'folk' to be alternative and with an edge, yet without ever being too difficult to listen to! ideal for evenings round the virtual campfire...

I'm stoked that Peter and the Wolf (aka Red Hunter) has found his way to eMusic. He's really got something original and ear-catching going for him and he's got an original perspective on the world and music. If none of his old self-released albums show up at eMusic then do yourself a favor and visit www.whiskeyandapples.com and order them up! Start with the eponymous CD. There are also some free mp3 downloads there. Unfortunately it looks like his old Red Hunter solo stuff or his "The Murder Mystery" album is no longer available. Too bad for you!
Just superb from start to finish. The Highway is particularly stunning, but everything is worth a download. Incidentally, I think the other CD Emusic has under this band is a different band of the same name.
There are two different bands called "Peter and the Wolf." This one is a man named Red Hunter from Austin TX.
