Death Proof
"The Love You Save..." is in Death Proof from The Grindhouse double-feature. Sydney Poiter plays this on the juke box. I don't know if it's the sound systems in the theaters, but hearing a song in there just makes it sound so damn good.

Wow, how good it is to hear all these originals 40 years after I bought 2 Tex albums as a youth in Northumberland. He really epitomises the best of sixties soul, but with that genuine, downhome country feel. Once Buddy Killen had used his Nashville influence and then recorded in Muscle Shoals there was no stopping them. I once saw Alexis Korner in The Cellar Club in Ashington (probably around 1968) and he did an acoustic blues version of "Hold on to what you got" to prove the point that good songs can also be great blues songs. I am delighted to now have these digital versions in my collection. Thanks e-Music.
