An Overlooked Gem
I managed to miss out on these guys completely when this was current (you can't tell me that Cleopatra didn't release a hell of a lot of mediocrity), but fortunately I've gotten on board, lo these many years later. The description of Front 242 meets KMFDM is pretty accurate, though overall they skew more towards the former than the latter ("Well, duh", I hear you say--"They only went and borrowed Jean-Luc De Meyer to sing on it"). Having a singer who actually writes lyrics and sings vs. just shouting a couple of lines through an effects processor over and over really helps to elevate this above so much other industrial. Guitars show up frequently but not constantly here; as is typical for this style, they play simple, heavy riffs with lots of distortion, but are kept behind the synths in the mix.
