Art Punk Implosion!

Axisofevildoer

I remember these dudes playing in Richmond, Va., in the late '80s at a joint called Rockitz. I made pizza for the band in the place next door and they paid me with their LP. The percussion-driven assault of "I Loved You Then I Died" has stayed with me ever since and I'm delighted to have it on MP3 - though it sounds a lot different than it did on vinyl. No one showed up at the gig, but three of us on a snowy night. A local hot punk chick went up on stage while they played and did a strip tease, an then the drummer kicked his mallet through his bass drum head. He put the pedal on his Floor Tom and broke that head too and cracked one of his hi-hat cymbals. Poor guy. It was one of the most memorable shows I ever didn't pay for.

Duck & Cover ...It's Bomb!!!

Dvoodoo

This is one classic, long out of print CD from a sicko San Francisco band and it is well worth your time to grab a few pummeling punky & manically metalloid tracks. I suggest starting with the rhythmic & chant worthy track #1 "The Power of Suggestion" & meander yer way down the list. At least get #3 "Madness", perhaps skip the bombastic filler of "Bigger Than Fun" & "Because Pan Says", but I suggest the quirky #12 "I Loved You Then I Died"
