Followers in the great New York tradition of Latin-tinged pop.
Label: Luaka Bop

Led by sultry chanteuse Carol C, Si-Sé follows in the great New York tradition of Latin-tinged pop that works as well in a dark, smoky room (if there are any dark, smoky rooms left) as on the dance floor. Think Lisa Lisa, the Brazilian Girls, that sort of sultry. Carol C has a yearning, delicate voice that can rise to meet any groove head-on. Though more authoritative in Spanish than in English, language is never an issue: the grooves take over with the quiet assurance of a band that has nothing to prove, but is ready to prove it anyway, from the late night beat of “The Rain” to the smooth and slinky reggae of “Burbuja.”

Never Forward

Spartukus

I just love this album. I have had it since 2008 and I am yet to press \"forward\" >> whenever any of these Songs come on when my iPod is on Shuffle. The right music for every mood and occasion.

Que Voz

Carol Cardenas sultry and sexy voice, the smooth and latin groove sounds create a masterpiece in downtempo or in any genre.I've told everyone I known and met about this album since it came out.I went to see them live a couple of years ago and had a great time, fine ladies, smoke, drinks and great music.NY's late nite scene doesn't get any better than that.I love this album.

MMMmmm...It's like touring the Caribbean on a giant slip and slide in super slow motion, while drinking fine wine. Think about it.

Very pleasant surprise

prometheus5

I first heard them on a Putumayo compilation, nice song nothing special, but this cd is something else. Just when you think they are going one way the music takes a suprising turn and all works great. Very inventive group with a nice smooth sound, and of course her voice glides over your ears like silk. Highly recommended.

"Timeless Appreciation"

HipHopManiac

First got this cd single that was a mini disc back while I was on tour in '01 and had it and after a few moves someone snagged it probably one of the many soul singers I work with. This album is like classic vintage NYC nuyorican vibe bars and coffeehouses

I've seen all these reviews and gave a try for this record. And it suprised me a lot: what a good voice, nice grooves, etc. I do recommend the record.

I downloaded this album without knowing anything about the band and based solely on the reviews. Now I'm hooked on those silky vocals and smooth grooves. Fantastic Album!

Love the vocals

I first heard Si Se on a compilation album, then had the privilege of hearing them in concert - absolutely love the vocals. Her voice is sweet, sexy, and is backed by great Latin rhythms and instrumentation.

Great Great Music

Bought this CD as part of a random music run on Ebay. The CD no longer works, so I'm very happy to be able to replace this with nice digital copy. Great vocals, laid back spanish trip hop style. A fantastic band!
