I am so glad The Academy of Ancient Music was my first exposure to these compositions. I was hooked 59 seconds into the first movement. In 1824, nearly 100 years after Op. 3, Beethoven was quoted; "Handel is the greatest composer who ever lived. I would bare my head and kneel at his grave" We are lucky to have these beautiful and vigorous performances of Handel's Concerto Grossi.
