Arguably the most accomplished single-artist dubstep album
Label: Planet Mu / Revolver

"I like the street — the smells, the scents of another world," go the first words of this debut, arguably the most accomplished single-artist dubstep album, and it's appropriate that this producer came out of another world than club culture: Greg Sanders, a.k.a. Distance, was a metalhead before making electronic music, and his banks of synths on tracks like "Confined" have the density of sludgy guitars. Often echo can be a crutch to hide mistakes or make up for little content, but "Night Vision" and "Tuning" in particular show that Distance uses it with near-surgical expertise.

Very...very good

thatway57

This is a great recording. Plenty of variety and it really grows on you the more you hear it. My favourite track at the moment is "traffic" which has a (excuse the pun) snarling rhythm track topped by some great 70's sounding synth melody lines. Plant Mu seems to be an interesting label which I will be investigating further.

Badass!

Algernon

To be listened to in the dark, when no one else is home, at very high volume.

great stuff

Good shit. It's got a little dark side to it, but manages to keep you grooving and wanting more. That's a great combination for good music in my book.

Outstanding (in a field of snow)

Verdunguy

Deep dark music from somewhere very cold, and very very alive. It's the perfect soundtrack for driving through a snowstorm on an urban expressway at night.

Great Sound

Classic electronic dub. Even the album cover art is cool.

Yep...

....Easily one of my favorite dubstep producers at the moment. I think I played Delight and Fractured alone about 2356 times the first week I had them

wicked heavy beats

Superb album. Nice heavy bass lines, snappy beats. A very full sound, unlike the micro-house bleepy crap. Recommended.

Cannot stop listening to My Demons

spicktastic

I started with Burial because of emusic's recommendation, and that *is* an excellent artist & album. Distance was the next logical step, and I am thoroughly in love with My Demons. For the (surprisingly melodic) subbass I bought fancy new headphones that make my brain vibrate. It's like dub meets drum n bass meets Bladerunner, gets mildly acquainted with hip-hop and garage I suppose, and then the tempo is cut in half. I don't know. I love it.

Serious Album!

SICK> This album does not dissapoint, it's deep soundscaped with heavy beats and some seriously twisted bass. listen to this on a long car journey home from the club.. heavily recommended. If you like your dubstep, do not miss this one tectonic plates CD, Burial and VEX'D. Rik
