Butter Side Up
What an obscure find! I had this on vinyl for a while when it first came out, then sold it in the "Great Vinyl Purge" of the 90s. Glad I have it again, sort of. The first side is the better of the two, sort of a snappy melodic Southern Punk kind of sound meets Dead Milkmen-type humor with a little college band thrown in. Side two must have been recorded at a different date, as the production is muddier and the sound is more metal. Kind of an interesting artifact from my punk rock youth. For some reason, I really like the drum sound on this. The kit is tuned very melodically, and the snare almost has a piccolo sound. Download "Girlfriend" at all costs. It is hilarious and obnoxious and completely un-PC!
