Absolutely outstanding major-label debut for these midwest champs. The only band I've seen more often than I've seen Prince. From country-rock through singer-songwriter territory to harder rocking sounds and back through balladry to jazzy sounds and shiny, sunny pop. There's not much they can't do. Please give the Honeydogs a listen, I doubt you'll regret it.

Like their pair of indie records, the Honeydogs’ major-label debut, Seen a Ghost, is a charming collection of Beatlesque pop, demonstrating the group’s knack for bright, catchy melodies and ringing guitars. Seen a Ghost is a solid, craftsmanlike collection of pop that doesn’t offer any new thrills, but there are nevertheless thrills in the hooks and harmonies, making it a worthwhile choice for classicist pop aficionados. – Stephen Thomas Erlewine
