Various Artists – System Recordings, The System Dozen – eMusic Sampler
Label: System Recordings

One of the finest American dance music imprints going, System Recordings'varied output is showcased on The System Dozen. Whether it be Richard Vission's funky tech-house, DJ Icey's breakbeat techno, Jorjick's aquatic 4/4 dub, or Dynamical Grooves'robo-lectro, there should be something here for any dance music fan to enjoy. Of special note: the label's flagship artist, Dieselboy, and his collaboration with Kaos on the drum ‘n'bass epic, “Barrier Break” and Air Bureau's buoyant classic piano house joint, “Let Me Know.”

Way to compare ITUNES to Emusic, thats like comparing your review to something with context. I noticed it didn't say ITUNES exclusive under the album...hmmm. keep on truckng Emusic...just lengthen the preview times or fragment them, thats my only complaint- they're not long enough to distract me from seeing reviews like dreamin242's.

i'm wth thelast few ppl that wrote that this is defently an intro to the whole trance/break beat/techno genre,it covers just about everything and with some songs that, yes u'd have to get the whole album just for 1 song kinda sucked, but here u can try one or two and see if u like it or not, just like most things in life, not everybody is going to like what i listen to. So i try to listen to differnet stuff just to see what is out there and that i don't shut myself down to new or old stuff thats floating around in some circles

My Pick

poyiboy

Tram because of the trance beats. Inside Out because the singer works well with the beat. Best of both songs is Inside Out.

pretty decent

some good stuff. the 30 second preview is a tough issue here. these are not free by the way, re: the comments below at least they were not for me. -they are emusic exclusive, worth a d/l if you're into it.

Dance RULES!

Okay all you Haters GO TO YOUR ROOM! :) And Stay there until you learn some Manners! :) This Album is pretty Cool, I downloaded a couple songs from it. Check out Richard (Humpty) Vission's "Somebody" that song was previously kinda hard to find in a Download, you had to buy the whole CD before just to get that Song. So if you want it now, here's your Chance! Also check out Mixtress (Future Funk Squad Remix), and Tram, both of those songs are pretty Cool too. Don't pay any attention to the Whiners, they don't have anything better to do than Complain about something they know nothing about. :) Dance On People! the_webninja

this is by far the suckiest site for downloads that I have ever seen, this album is great when you want to drown out someone that you don't want to hear. Again the best site by far is ITUNES"

Decent stuff

aphexbr

Not sure why there's so many people reviewing this who clearly don't like dance music in the first place.... Anyway, this is a decent compilation of varying styles - mostly trance/techno but with a couple of electro and breakbeat inspired tracks, and 'Barrier Break' is pure drum & bass. Hey, it's a sampler, it's free so whether you like it or not, you can't lose!

Your Kidding !!

Webspinner

How can Dance Music listeners be critical about beats, and outdated or ripped off tracks, who you trying to Kid ?? Dance Music is all about ripping of Crap and trying to make it worse !!!!!!! Do yourself a favour and listen to some REAL music......If you want to get critical then that's the place to go...
