I listened to this album extensively in the 80's and am delighted to find it here. Played by great musicians on guitar and mandolin, these traditional tunes are treated with respect. No flashy, jazzy meanderings here, just solid melody-oriented picking, with tasteful harmonies and variations, reminding us why these tunes have stood the test of time. A very enjoyable listen, but even better for pickers who want to learn how the tunes ought to be played.
