hey ya!...ah....yahw

fulofunk

Hey Ya grabbed me in the first 3 bars of the first listen and I had to listen through 3 or 4 time before i could move again (sorry Outkast, but this is how Hey Ya should've sounded to begin with; i can't get it out of my head). Then Bugge got me and then Beady. Beady.....well,well,well. I'm still mining these 2 discs for more gold, but just to be introduced to Bugge & Beady, i consider myself very fortunate indeed!

Different

habsfan

It has great sounds but as usual in jazz it takes time to listen intensely to appreciate it. My first impression is to listen and enjoy.

Fixated on more tracks!

PeterPan

I'm glad someone's trying to sort out my confusion. Provided only the two tracks (Beady Belle's and Bugge's) are mismatched, I'd like to comment on two others. Konstad Trio's 'Space Available' is a wonderfully spaced-out piece that Sonny Rollins would surely approve of (in the sense that he never liked to jam with pianists much) with tenor sax harmonic effects that form a recurring theme rather than a virtuoso flourish (good compositional quality). The other is Wibutee's '1-800-Skauen': a promising and forward-looking coupling of abstract jazz and serious electronica. Give me more! This is probably the best 'sampler' of any music that I've heard in ages.

Revelatory

Festoonic

It's all very good, but if, like me, you never want to have to hear Sade or Norah Jones again when your significant other wants something sultry on the hi-fi, then you owe it to yourself and to your relationship to download complete albums from Beady Belle and Torun Eriksen.

Outstanding

worldshift

This is outstanding stuff from Bugge Wesseltoft's own label (if you haven't heard of him before, there's an extensive write-up on him at Wikipedia). However Wout.Mertens is right - eMusic have switched the titles on tracks 6 and 7 - see the correct listing on http://shop.buggesroom.com/album_392

gems on a stony shore

otros

sifted through these tracks in the baking sun on an pebble beach in may in the UK! yes a rare occurence but so is finding such a great selection of atmospheric tracks mainly with a nordic/electronica/nu-jazz feel. sometimes the level of experimentation was too much for me but overall some wonderful moments. i'll be downloading some more from beady belle, torun eriksen and wibutee

Song titles mistake - again

Wout.Mertens

Once more, there is a mixup in the song titles here on eMusic. I wish this wouldn't happen. Anyway, song 6 of the first cd is not "Out here. In there" but instead it's "When my anger starts to cry" by Beady Belle. A beautiful song by the way, download it! This is the track listing I got somewhere else: 1. Family Pictures - Eivind Aarset 2. Merrivein - Sidsel Endresen 3. Sessasphere - Audun Kleive 4. Skog - Bugge Wesseltoft 5. Words - Torun Eriksen 6. When My Anger Starts To Cry - Beady Belle 7. Out Here, In There 8. 1-800-Skauen - Wibutee 9. Tablatic - On/Off 10. Johnathan Livingstrone Seagull 11. Johnathan Livingstrone Seagull - Shining 12. Do It - Atomic 13. Space Available - Hakon Kornstad 14. Cleaning The Dome - Atomic 15. Revolving - Havard Wiik Trio 16. Hey Ya - Maria Kannegaard 17. Without Excuse - Samsa'ra
