Great to have Oregon back to their prime. Whilst nobody can replace Colin Walcott this is up there with the best. If you haven't herad them before this is a great starting point. Check them out on You Tube.

EXCELLENT!!!

I agree 100% with nolebuc1. This is an excellent album. For me, Mountain King is especially wonderful with it's great drumming and superb solo by Paul McCandless.

Great Artists!

I have been a long time fan of Oregon. Their brand of jazz offers many different textures incorporating "non-traditional" instrumentation and arrangements. These guys are some of the most accomplished musicians in the world. The track "If" is superb. Virtuoso Ralph Towner's very recognizable style of acoustic quitar playing is at its best here. "Doff" is just simply an amazing piece of music showcasing each players world class style of playing. It doesn't get much better than this. Buy this!

This recording celebrates the 35th anniversary of the unique folk/jazz group Oregon. The group originals, which include a five-song “Monterey Suite” (the final five selections), each contain their unpredictable moments and feature the four musicians both in interplay with each other and as the lead. Paul McCandless, who is in particularly rewarding form, generally takes honors even though Ralph Towner wrote the majority of the selections. Overall, this is an excellent effort, a worthy addition to Oregon’s rich discography. – Scott Yanow
