Quiet Music Played Loudly

OneL

The second effort from the band, this is a CD to which I listened again and again. You can call this music chamber pop; I've always described this band's sound as quiet songs played loudly. Perhaps a bit more polished than their debut album from 2005 because this was a studio set as opposed to the recorded at home first set.

A major find

This was THE surprise find for 2007. Every track is a melodic treasure. Became one of my favorite albums period. Baffling how this band remains largely unknown.

Among the Best of 2007

TheRabbi

This is an early contender for my album of the year. Shades of Elliott Smith, early acoustic Neil Young, and beautifully written and performed throughout I feel like a fool but I was desperate to get it, so when I didn't see it on EMusic upon its release last month, I rushed out and dropped $17.99 for it. Ugh! Still worth every penny, but now you all can enjoy it courtesy of EMusic for a lot less.

we all need this one

Great album -- as for the two bonus tracks: skip the first one, it's "silence" (literally); the second is a radio-friendly version of "Broken Arm" with an f-bomb replaced by another adjective.
