it sounds like a cross between ben kweller and early isaac brock and maybe a little half-handed cloud! but it's precious! especially the original version of "streets of fire", which finally got it's time 10 years later. as a collector of destroyer albums, i think this is a great one to own, especially since it's so different from his other work, even the voice is completely different. i envision a young bejar in his friend's kitchen, strumming away with a boombox in the background. but then again, i'm a hopeless romantic.

This is a lo-fi home or field recording of Destoyer, aka Dan Bejar from the New Pornographers. There could be some moments here, but they may be a little difficult to find as you sift through some messy noise jams. Definitely NOT to be downloaded without listening to first. Very kooky throwaways.
