For the last 10 years, the Swedish label Labrador has been quietly turning out some of the sunniest pop music this side of the Brill Building. Taking up the legacy begun by the classic NME C86 compilation, Labrador focuses on bands that specialize in marrying bright, sugary pop hooks to loose, summery music. From the dreamy electropop of Waltz for Debbie to the Legends 'raucous rock, Labrador lives by the mantra: "Don't bore us — get to the chorus." This record, celebrating the group's 100th release, is the perfect place to start to get introduced to the label's signature sound.
