Dark and memorable

Shake_n_Jake

Undone was an incredible album - dark but what I loved about the good stuff from the 80s. Glad to see some of their stuff resurfacing. The song Twister is magical.

Essential mid 80's....the album before this, "undone", is also great, but now out of print, i think.

Rare Gem

I first heard of the lucy show on alternative radio in the 80's. Even then, their albums were not easy to find. It would be great if their other album (albums?)were available as well. I never tire of this band. If you are into alternative music and especially 80's alternative, you won't be disappointed.

deja vu

JerryBalls

I had this LP back in 86 when I was in high school. It was definitely one of my favorite records back then. Lent it to a friend, never got it back. Now that I got it back through e-Music, it's like a complete revival of those adolescent days. I just love this album!

A great CD from the 80's

rsanfel

We've been looking for this CD/Album in electronic format for years. All of the tunes are good, but the stand outs are "Sad September" and "Part of Me Now". Both are melodic with great harmonies, guitar and just enough synthesizer. Don't overlook this CD!

They Say All Music Guide

The Lucy Show’s second full-length album caught the group in a time of personnel crises. At this juncture, the band had dwindled to a duo, Rob VanDeven and Mark Bandola, with assistance from various sidemen. Despite the membership instability here, this album is a solid improvement over previous releases. The influence of R.E.M. and the Cure is extremely strong; all the songs here show clear touches of one or both of these bands. A few selections, such as “Sun and Moon” and “Melody,” also utilize subtle ’60s melodic twists and turns. Unusual, slip-sliding chord progressions occur often (“View from the Outside” is a good example), lending these songs added depth and appeal. “New Message” features a solid, chunky drumbeat and an especially ringing arrangement that is accentuated by use of crisscrossed high trumpet lines. “Sojourn’s End” has noticeable psychedelic touches and adds a smidgen of harmonica to the mix. “Sad September” is a moody and lovely acoustic guitar-dominated number with a hauntingly effective vocal. And the synthesizer-based “Part of Me Now” is simultaneously pulsating and expressive, one of the album’s best songs. This overlooked release deserves wider exposure and is well-worth hearing. [This edition of the album includes bonus tracks, live cuts, demos and a video for "A Million Things."] – David Cleary
