Best Aventura Album

squirrrl

maybe its cause i listen to this album more than the others and it has stuck with me buts its totally unfair to say that all the songs sound the same... that being said, if you only like the album for ella y yo, you should just get Don Omar's album. I like that song, plus i think that "la nina", "volvio la traicionera", "angelito" (even though these last two do sound similar), and ciego de amor are great songs but definitely more in the bachata style.

Aventura is Bachata

Afterparty

All I need is to hear "Ella y Yo" bangin on the radio and I'm reminded of why I love music.

Ignorancia

Jazzistry

To say this all sounds the same is as ignorant as saying all punk or all reggae sounds the same. Yes, the whole album is within the style of bachata, but there is some variation here. What you see is what you get with Aventura; if you like smooth bachata, then go for it. "Ella y Yo" is a classic reggaeton/bachata fusion, and it is also on Don Omar's album. "Por tu orgullo" is another lively track.

just download one song

nacho

All of these songs sound the same. They only sped up or slowed down the tempo every other song and changed some of the guitar and drum riffs. All you need to do is download one song and you are good to go, do not download the whole album or you will waste your downloads. Punk music has more variation than this. This music is not bad, I like it, it is just that in reality a lot of it sounds the same.

They Say All Music Guide

Despite the title, with 2005′s God’s Project, Aventura continues to define their own destiny. In fact, with their widespread popularity and the outpouring of groups who mimic their distinctly New York-influenced bachata, they may be helping to define the genre, as well. Under the clever guise of a boy band lurks some genuine musicianship, particularly evident in Lenny and Mikey Santos. The musician’s ear will delight in Lenny’s skillful guitar playing and tasteful, hip production, which foreshadow a long, fruitful career in the industry. Though lacking depth at times, the vocal style of Anthony “Romeo” Santos has become a hallmark of the group and has won the affection of fans far and wide. The reggaeton-influenced “Ella y Yo” and the spirited merengue “Por Tu Orgullo” are welcome variations on an otherwise stylistically homogeneous disc. The lack of variation in instrumentation, key, and tempo can become tiring. But it is exactly their dedication to their Dominican heritage and an original sound that has saved them from pop mediocrity. An absolute favorite with young urban Latino audiences, Aventura is already a staple in a rapidly developing market. God’s Project, certainly the most consistent in quality so far and perhaps their strongest release period, establishes them as more than a pop phenomenon. – Evan C. Gutierrez
