I'm not sure what album the previous reviewers were listening to but there is no guitarist in this trio. The instrumentation here is Bass (Willis), Drums (Covington) and Sax (Fortuny). Second being a bit nit-picky Tribal Tech was not a power trio (at least on record). I own every Tribal Tech recording that is available and every one features a quartet with drums, bass, guitar and keyboards. I only saw them live once and there too they were a quartet. I've only listened to this album once and will update with review at a later date.

When I first heard this album, I thought the guitarist was Jeff Beck, but "Curlac" (below) said it is Scott Henderson of Tribal Tech. I've since downloaded Tribal Tech and Scott Henderson's solo album. Great stuff. If you love Jeff Beck's bluesy-jazz-rock style, you'll certainly love this album.

Power Trio Fusion Avant-Garde To The Max!

Curlac

So great to have material from ex-members of Tribal Tech on Emusic, Gary Willis is an extraordinary and very experienced virtuoso on bass, a master composer of fusion avant-garde too. He and and Kirk Covington on drums were part of Tribal Tech, one of the greatest fusion avant-garde power trio band, the other member was the incredible Scott Henderson on electric guitar. Slaughterhouse 3 is a fantastic evolution from these more than entertaining musicians. I still remember the incredible Tribal Tech shows from these guys at a small jazz bar in Old Montreal...
