John Beltran’s first album for Peacefrog tweaks the blueprint of Detroit techno with a collection of fragile melodies and synthesizer textures worthy of a Derrick May classic, but with more finely wrought percussion. The melancholy beauty of such tracks as “Collage of Dreams” make Ten Days of Blue an LP supremely chilled and ready to serve. – John Bush
