look for thr first Hank Wilson album

Hoofprints

Leon Russell was a major force in music in the 70's. Listen to his song "Back to the Island" if you want a true classic. His collaborations with Joe Cocker, the Stones and others were fantastic. He did an earlier album called "Hank Wilson's Back" and, at the time, there was nothing to disclose that Hank Wilson was Leon Russell, if you didnt recognize the voice. That album was one of the best country albums ever. This collection seems like rejects from the earlier project. These songs are OK but not special, much to my disappointment. I wish Hank would come back for a new album.

Leon - A Legend In His Own Time

FISHERKING

You might also want to add for "naposterchild" music education that Leon Russell helped make Joe Cocker a star in the US. One of the all time best known concert tours ever put together in the US was "The Joe Cocker and Mad Dogs and Englishmen" tour which made Joe Cocker a house hold name. The tour was put together by Leon Russell and was made up of the very best session people anywhere. It was an awesome concert tour and was made into my all time favorite live concert movies. Buy the movie "naposterchild" and learn something about music history. Also, for the unenlightened Russell is a close friend of Willie Nelson and it's common for them to record and play together in concert.

Leon Russell

26.2er

This is a response to the previous review by "naposter child." Obviously this person lacks musical knowledge, otherwise he would know who Leon Russell is. Leon is a rocker/bluesplayer who was mainstream in the 1970's. He is still active and appears frequently in concerts. He has played with the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and various other musicians. His version of "Jumpin Jack Flash" is the best I've ever heard. This site offers great music by some of my favorite people that I would never have found elsewhere. Some of my favorites have become favorites because they were available at this site. This includes this album. Don't knock it until you've given it a chance (and do your music homework.)
