Great track. Gets me every time.

A great intro

MammothMan

If you want a small sampling of bedhead before you buy their three albums (and you will), try this. It follows the basic fragile/soft/loud pattern that they would later perfect.

Mesmerizing

Intense, mesmerizing 2005 release. Try "Inhume" companion piece to "Exhume" from their Transaction de Novo I (and another download recommendation). There is something grand, patient, elegant about this music. If you're in a bad mood but it's profound, with implications for the universe as a whole, then this might be the soundtrack for you.

life changing?

Inhume changed my life in all of the right ways. For more life changing experiences, check out other Bedhead albums and also the Macha loved Bedhead collaboration.

First track, 'The Dark Ages' is one of the most beautiful songs ever created.

They Say All Music Guide

Sometimes an EP is all it takes, and while Bedhead aficionados will likely mention other songs or releases as better starting points, for brevity and impact The Dark Ages perfectly captures the gently stripped-down feeling of power and hush that the group made its own. The title track is a slow-build stunner — comparisons to the Velvet Underground don’t apply here so much as similarities to Joy Division, in the way the music insistently grabs in the listener, especially in the almost triumphant final minute. “Inhume” takes an instrumental approach with similar results that are almost as fine, while “Any Life” introduces some country jangle and twang in the guitar set against the low-key vocals. At 15 minutes long, it’s worth every second. – Ned Raggett
