Good, but incomplete
For some reason, eMusic is missing Track #7. With track #7 included, this is a 5-star album.

The music often sounds like a cross between Kurt Weill during his Berlin phase and Strauss's Four Last Songs. Only occasionally does Greenaway's minimalism come to the fore, but without the irony of his film music. These are passionate and urgent songs which illuminate some of the most challenging and moving poetry of the 20th century. They enhanced my enjoyment of Celan's poetry. Can you give song settings any higher praise?
