marla hansen is a refreshing voice in the cluttered mess of typical indie folk singer song writers. as the previous review stated she is similar to sufjan, she is a member of sufjans ensemble of pleasant musicians. i would also recomend marla to fans of rosie thomas. overall a great effort.
O, my goodness, what a decent album this is! I came across Marla on Myspace while searching on Sufjan Stevens. Sufjan plays on this album, and I can definately hear the influences they share. They both take acoustic music and make it thoroughly modern, while keeping its timelessnes. But Marla deifnately has her own thing going for her. Besides all else, I am down with the way she plays and uses her viola in the songs. I totally love it. If you like Sufjan, download this now! My favourite tracks are: "All clear" and "Talk to me".
