PUNK ACID SICKNESS AT ITS FINEST!!
the butthole surfers are one of the most underappreciated, and for the most part, overlooked punk rock killers around. their blend of punk rock, metal sludge and lysergic-demonic blowouts were so far out and unbelievably badass that their legacy could barely be comprehended at the time of their greatest musical outpouring (mid-80's-early 90's).anyone that wants to add a ridiculously original band to their collection or blow their minds with already-familiar tunes, i sggest BHS's 'locust abortion technician', 'hairway to steven' rembrandt pussyhorse', psychic, powerless..another mans sac', and this pioughd/widowermaker' combo to get started, then check out some of earlier 80's stuff. 'independent worm saloon' has some good stuff, but they got caught up in coprporate shitbox of the early post-nirvana 90's. satan bless em, tho...i wouldnt have had some of the best drug-induced good times ever w/o the buttholes playing thew soundtrack...thanks, guys!!
last great BHS album
This is a great BH Surfers album. The last album before they went "pop" if you will. The last 5 tracks, the widowermaker are the strongest of the bunch, although the Hurdy Gurdy man is a hoot as well.
