Not the best of Gene, but still pretty good
Original recordings, some surface noise (like most of the Vee Jay reissues.) This includes Chandler's biggest and most famous hit, the wonderfully bizarre "Duke of Earl," but does not include most of the great Chicago soul sides he recorded later ("Nothing Can Stop Me," etc.) Instead we have miscellaneous singles and covers of other people's hits. There are some gems here, though. Try the classics "Rainbow" and "Man's Temptation" (the latter written by Curtis Mayfield.)
