Segel rocks
Where Edgy Not Antsy featured a home-studio, experimental pop aesthetic, Honey showcases Segel's more rockin' side, with a strong Nuggets feel to many of the tracks. Segel's Camper Van Beethoven bandmate Victor Krummenacher handles the bass, and John Hanes drums, while Segel plays his usual assortment of guitars, keyboards and violin. The great Myles Boisen, who recorded the basic tracks, adds guitar. The psychedelic swirl of "I Love You" is a standout, as is proggy "Scars" and the witty Pink Floyd homage, "Interstitial Undertow."
