I'm surprised Phil allowed this to come out in digital format. The only way to get the CD/record is to by his $64.00 book of photographs. And while his greatness began and ended with "The Glow, Pt.2", I've always greatly respected his love for the listener and his uncompromising artistic vision. He is one in a million.
Since ending The Microphones and re-appearing as Mount Eerie, Phil Elv(e)rum's music has become quieter and more insular, largely lacking the bursts of guitar noise and the heavenly backing vocals that characterised his earlier records. Mount Eerie pts 6 & 7 is another recording that sounds best on headphones, but the plaintive experimental folk gets mixed up with chugging heavy metal riffs, glorious atmospherics and a broader palette of sound than we've heard from Phil in a while. More please!
