Very derivative, but also very catchy. Despite my suspicion that I'll find this in the $1 bin at Amoeba, I felt compelled to download tracks 1-3, 5, and 10.

I liked their debut for it's unpolished fuzz-rock feel, not to mention the singer's Debbie Harry-esque vocals. This album is definitely more professional in sound - no doubt due to Ric Ocasek's experienced hand - but it is an improvement. The Hong Kong's songs were always pop at heart and now they sound the part. Stand out songs include: 'Tongue Tied', 'ROTA', 'Not Getting Better'. I'm not sure why they included 'Galaxies'which was also the second track on their previous effort. Maybe they liked it and wanted a more polished version on record.
5 stars for great singing killer, driving pop tongue tied--a potent blast of sorrow wrapped in chug economy and generosity of content: no fat! I'm a pop lover! this is cool nyc pop
