COLLECTOR'S MUST HAVE

Bunny2

This finally reissued 1965 Susan Rafey album featuring the sensational productions and orchestrations of Alan Lorber, includes the classic rendition of "The Big Hurt". A young, very talented, 18 year old Rafey, though not yet secure in her singing style, tackles with great maturity adult songs of the heart. "Hurt So Bad" appears here in its mono single version (the album includes "The Big Hurt" in both the mono single version and stereo album release). "The Way Of Love", contrasts the more jazzy "Bring Back The Love You Gave Me", written by Artie Kaplan in which he is featured in a flowing interplay of tenor sax and strings. In a more political vein, the state of the late 60's is recalled in "A World Without Sunshine", and the powerful "Edge Of Heaven" closes the set. Throughout, Alan Lorber's innovative framework dictates the emotion of the lyrics and his arrangements soar with the melodies of the songs. This album is a collector's must have.
