Great de Rore recording
You won't find a lot of recordings of Cipriano de Rore's music, so to get one that's devoted to him is a real treat. Huelgas's sound, phrasing, diction, and intonation are excellent. They pull off all the cross-relations in "Mon petit cueur", bring out all the "madrigalisms" of "Mia benigna fortuna", and deliver a spooky "Calami sonum ferentes" (the experimental madrigal for all basses). The Mass is excellent. A beautiful album.
