It took me awhile to get accustomed to the search engines and layouts of this website. However, now it's my favorite place for music. I was somewhat discouraged when I first started here, but after reading what emusic is really about, I was hooked. This site IS NOT for people that have a closed mind about music. It is truly designed to appeal to REAL MUSIC LOVERS! If you don't like all genres of music then this is not the place for you. Emusic has replaced itunes in my music world. They may not have what you want when u want it but they always come through.
Originally recorded by Melvin and the Blue Notes. If you are an open minded person and really love music, you should be glad for eMusic. There's good music, original material and, best of all, you can learn a lot. Try not to be discouraged. Just keep looking and listening. Why not?
hehe...this one isn't quite what i'm after (i was looking for Lenny Kravitz, who IMNSHBAO does NOT suck), but I've never had a problem using up my monthly downloads, often having to split an album between months to get the whole thing.
EMUSIC SITE IS A LITTLE TOUGH TO FIND THE ARTIST YOUR LOOKING FOR. WHEN I DO FIND ONE, MOST OF THE TIME IT'S IN A SOUNDTRACK OR COMES UP WITH ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT ARTISTS. BUT I'M STILL TRYING TO GET USED TO IT. AS FAR AS THE COMMENTS MR. RTISTIK WROTE, HE HAS NO CLASS AND NO RESPECT FOR THE PUBLIC PEOPLE. HOW DOES EMUSIC ALLOW THIS VOLGUR, TRASH MOUTH TO VOICE THAT ON THIS SITE. KIDS OR NOT. HE SAYS THAT HE IS AN MUSIC ARTIST. I WOULD NEVER LISTEN TO A SONG HE PRODUCED, IF IN FACT HE EVER COULD.
This site is for us who really love music, not some kinds of music! Lenny Kravits is really not my cup of tea but I do like at least the rhythm of some of his music. You are not very open minded with your attitude about this site. If you had read what the site says about itself, it states that it is NOT the top 10 or 40 but a site for people who like different styles of music that are not necessary played on our regular radio stations. And you may change your mind about your last remark, Bstill, as you get older your music experience changes just like everything else in life.
I like all music, whether its heavy-rotation radio play stuff, or obscure/eccentric indie offerings. eMusic is not for those people looking for the former, but still has lots to offer. When I first joined, I too was disappointed that I couldn't find many popular artists, but the daily download, as well as the multitude of free albums and emails/newsletters have broadened my musical horizons more in the last 6 months than I could have ever dreamed. The fact is there are still many popular artists that have reverted to indie labels that can now be found on here, as well as many early albums of aforementioned artists.
Long live eMusic!
this site is great if you like other music besides- radio top ten bullshit, lenny kravitz sucks , if you like him i can just imagine what other kind of junk you are looking for on this site. WHY DONT YOU GROW SOME FUCKING CREATIVITY AND EARS FOR GOOD MUSIC THEN COME BACK TO E-MUSIC WHEN YOUR DONE PISSING IN YOUR HUGGIES
This site SUX!!! I've been searching for anything that interest me and found nothing. Everytime I search for an artist I get some various artist crap. This is what i found when I search Lenny Kravits. WTF!!! I'm canceling my free trial as soon as I can. I am not paying a music download website that only has music that I would never listen to. No wonder it's free.
Everybody knows Motown was great, but few realize what an incubator the entire City of Detroit was for soul music in its heyday. For each artist on Berry Gordy’s label there were several more just as good who went with another major, or with a smaller, local indie. Some made their names in r&b, vocal groups or gospel before evolving into soul; others started in soul but had their greatest impact in funk. But even… more »

While the legendary voices of such jazz icons as Billie, Ella and Sarah still ring true, subsequent generations of female jazz vocalists have taken the music in new directions, especially in the '90s, ranging from Cassandra Wilson's new-standard caress to Diana Krall's classics with a twist. Taking their lead, young singers over the last decade have been swinging the vocal tradition onto a new plateau with a pop sensibility. In the mix are tunes by… more »

Nirvana and Pearl Jam. This is who you'll hear about when the topic of Seattle's music scene is brought up in a historical context. It makes sense. Alternative music has always been the face of the Seattle scene. But before Kurt and Eddie, there was Ray and Quincy and Jimi. Seattle has soul, and the hip-hop community in the 206 is the living proof. They love their hometown and the music reflects that. "Townfolk Hip-Hop"… more »
