Nothing wrong with the performances, but the sound on these tracks reminds me of EMI LPs of the 70s - loads of surface noise which drown out any quiet passages. Impossible to believe these have been taken from Telarc CDs. Look elsewhere if you want these performances.

I got a bit of a shock when I listened to this - many years ago I bought my second serious piece of music: It was this! A flood of emotion came as I recognized the performance. Strange, I thought at the time, how can an American Jazz pianist sound SO English? I still think, after hearing this again, it is one of the best.
