I much prefer his self titled album - the one with the drwaing of a cassette on the front. He sounds like he's trying too hard to sound like something on this record, it doesn't sound natural, too forced and not honest. Much prefer the self titled one.
Hands down one of the best albums I own. Solid through each song.
Where did this guy come from? He does bring to mind Neal Young, young again. "Crosby Stills Nash and Young" Re-born? May Be. Great work.
I had the good fortune to see this great bearded guy perform as an opening act for Band of Horses - a band I diiig, of course. After listening to Ramsey, he later played on stage w/ Band of Horses - turns out he's in the band. Standout tracks, in my taste, are: Once In Your Life, A Long Dream, and Worried, although it is all fantastic. I agree w/ the CSN comparison in harmonies; to me he sings a bit like Neil Young, fingerpicks guitar like Leo Kottke.
This album is wonderful. Hints of Fahey and Crosby, Stills, and Nash are all over this record. The cover of Jackson Browne's These Days is well done. Download this now and see Tyler live if you get the chance.
