StL Indie
The Otto Modest is a band on the verge of ripeness. Scooping influence from mid-90s rock, shoegaze, 70s prog, turn-of-the-century post-rock, and alt country into an old Jack Daniels barrel, The Otto Modest brew up their own brand of southern-friend indie rock. Think My Morning Jacket, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Mogwai, and a little bit of everything in between. Over the past few years, the St. Louis act has developed their sound (along with changes to the lineup) and continued to experiment. The production leaves something to be desired, but that's to be expected from a truly independent album. Recommened tracks include the spacey "Far Between," the electric ballad, "A Little Light," the bluesey "Farther In / Farther In," and the organ-fueled "One More Hello."
