This new Cherry Red compilation has been assembled with care and expertise by the artist's entourage and the venerable label. R. Stevie Moore has been making music since he was a tyke in Nashville, TN in the 60s and he's released his own material since the early 80s. He virtually pioneered the concept of self-releasing home-recordings and he's still at it. "Meet" focuses on a particular time frame in the artist's long career and the remastered recordings belie little of their humble beginnings in garages and garrets in TN and NJ. This is a great way to ease oneself into the ultra-prolific work of one of the most underexposed musical geniuses of our time.
