Dark!
After 3 albums of slightly-twisted but still bouncy synth pop, InSoc as most of us knew them came to an end. Kurt obtained the rights to the name, brought in Steve Seibold of Hate Dept. to help out, & released this claustrophobic masterpiece, that, except for the voice, bears NO resemblance to InSoc. Well, near masterpiece. The middle of the CD is heavy on filler...as are most InSoc released in my opinion. But the first three tracks should be in every Goth or Industrial collection. We then get a few forgetable tunes, a speedy sequel to Hack's instrumental "Seek 200", and a great Gary Numan cover. The album ends with The Ridge, another lengthy tune. It starts a little slow, but reaches a sonic climax that never fails to raise the hair on my neck. I have not downloaded track 10 here yet,it did not appear on the original CD Tracks 1-3 and 9 are must haves, and do more in 30 minutes than NIN's The Fragile did in 2 hours.
