12 credits?

rogergray

Edison 421 says albums of more than 12 tracks will only be charged 12 credits. Is that just a U.S. thing? I'm not so keen on the interposing of the two composers work but they can be re-arranged at will and sound better to me.

Beautiful music! ... BUT...

AMWinSF

This album contains peaceful, uplifting, and beautiful music, and this group is as good as the Tallis Singers. However, 7 out of 19 tracks do not even meet the MINIMUM industry standard, or 192 kbps, for quality digital music downloads (The preview for track 13 -- only 31 seconds long -- did not download into WMP, so I don't know the bit rate for this track). As for the question of why 20 credits? Because eMusic and the record companies think they can get away with charging as much as $0.50 for a 30 second download -- even if it is of poor quality -- because eMusic charges less PER TRACK than does iTunes or Rhapsody or Amazon.com. But depending on your subscription plan, you might be better off downloading the ENTIRE ALBUM at Amazon.com (where downloading the entire album costs $0.45 per track), where the quality of downloads is consistently MUCH better.

Why 20 credits?

Edison421

I thought albums of more than 12 tracks would now be sold for 12 credits under our new rules. This item is listing a cost of 20 credits for 20 tracks. Is that just a glitch in the back-office software or is 20 the real price?

Breathtaking

This is an outstanding release. English choral singing can often be austere. Not so here -we enjoy just the right degree of richness. The recording accoustic -so important in this repetoire is superb. The juxtaposing of the Tallis and Byrd pieces works remarkably well -thought it a bit gimmicky at first but repeated listening has convinced me that it is right. This is bold, bright and passionate music and should enjoy a wider audience. If you don't know this repetoire and are not interested in developing your interest do not even sample. You have been warned!
