a few weeks ago I had never heard of Nick Charles. Found him almost by accident, so now I'm prowling the alleys of emusic checking out lists of people who like him. Got to this via Nick Jonah Davis, and it is a great addition to my growing guitarista collection.
came across Matt Baldwin's album via a review by Julian Cope on his Head Heritage website. It's hardly a surprise the Copey likes it as the album starts with a fantastic 10-minute cover of Neu’s ‘Weissensee’ which relocates it from Düsseldorf to the Appalachian Mountains, while track three is a cover of Judas Priest's 'Winter', with Baldwin mixing up acoustic picking with layers of sludgy psychedelic electric guitar. A class act.
