White Trash Raga

OatmealMan

I like this album, but feel the production sometimes gets in the way of the music. White Trash Raga is excellent, but that's a Sarod, not a Sitar. The Sarod player, Randy Clark, has a band Crowsong that has three albums on eMusic. Crowsong is definitely worth checking out!

Almost makes me what to move back to California

Unto the Resplendent, White Trash Raga, and Burn are epic, massive, cool, and more.

been a big fan of the Mermen for a while now, seeing them live every opportunity I get.. I have previous studio albums, this being the one I didn't have... WOW!!! The Mermen is one band who's efforts get better... though I was familiar with some of the songs from their live shows , the studio versions are just gorgeous.. the incorporation of steel guitar is a great compliment to Thomas's guitar.. also the sitar in "White Trash Raga" is wonderful.. truly one of the most creative bands around today!!!

They Say All Music Guide

Previous to The Amazing California Health and Happiness Road Show, the Mermen has already proved themselves through live shows and recordings to be a well worth experiencing, highly amplified psychedelic surf band. Here the tide brings in much more to take in. This opus from the instrumental trio is much more introspective and trippy. While still retaining a distinctive Californian vibe, this album is much more progressive than any that preceded it. This mix of sitar, slow psychedelic, and deep space blues summons the vision of Pacific Ocean swells, containing a fantasy of exotic sea creatures. – Tom Schulte
