Pioneering metal act returns with a record that's just as brash and brutal as its predecessors.

Testament are back with a phenomenal album of new material that carries the feel of their albums from the late 80s and early 90s. Chuck Billy's voice is in top shape and Alex Skolnick lays down great solos that this style of music should always have.
Skolnick is back, and Testament has never sounded better. As stated in other reviews, this album is HEAVY. From the vocals to the drums to the guitars, everything about this shreds. The production is excellent, every song sounds very polished and tight. And did I mention heavy?
TestAmenT is back!! Saw them in Milwaukee and almost cried it was so good!!!!
All in all a good album. The track "More than meets the eye" really kick ass! All the other tracks kinda blended together for me.
Not as good as the previous album I thought... disappointing.
Probably best metal album I have ever heard. very listenable (unlike many metal albums), clever, musically accomplished, well produced but above all it is what a metal album should be--very heavy and very menacing.
That's the best way I can describe this album. This is the first time I've heard Testament and I really dig this album, it's just so heavy and pounding, and it has excellent musicianship. Definitely worth downloading for all metal fans.
most bands that have been around for a while cant match or recapture their sound that made them great in the first place. WOW is this the exception. This is as good if not better than anything they have done in the past. saw them live this year also and they havent missed a beat since I saw them in 88 or 89
This is the classic Testament sound...great songs, playing and production. These guys are originators of metal ...up there with Metallica, Slayer and others. ***** 5 out of five stars!!!
What more can I spill out other than, Testament reigns supreme! Sure, Metallica unleashed a good one with "Death Magnetic" but Testament do it all so much more naturally. They never wavered (Chuck and Eric kept the forge stoked) and never sold out (unlike other so-called heroes of the day). "Formation" is all that we expected and more. With Alex, Greg and Bostaph on board, there's no stopping this juggernaut of thrash!
